Afshan qualified from the University of Reading with an MSc in Language Pathology. She also has a BA in Hispanic Studies from the Queen Mary University of London and is fluent in Spanish and Urdu.
Afshan has over ten years’ experience in the delivery of speech and language therapy services for both adults and children, both privately and in the NHS. She began her own practice in 2013 and has a passion for all aspects of speech and language therapy. She works with a range of medical professionals in the assessment and treatment of speech and language disorders.
She is trained to an advanced level in acquired and progressive swallowing disorders. She is also trained in LSVT, PECS and uses MAKATON and Talk Tools.
Afshan has been a clinical supervisor to newly qualified speech and language therapists in their posts, supervising them to autonomous practitioner status. She provides training to a range of professionals in areas of speech and language difficulties.
She has a particular interest in delivering therapy effectively and uses technology and resources where relevant to maximise practise in and outside of therapy sessions.
